Health Outreach & Disease Prevention Program
Native American Health Service offers many fun and rewarding events throughout the year to increase public knowledge around the health concerns of our people.
In order to have active community involvement we have a number of events that we put on and attend. For outreach, we go to powwows where we will inform community members about our services as well as provide health education materials. We also frequently collaborate with other Native organizations to foster a close-knit community among Urban Natives. We also put on health promotion and disease prevention programs. We cover topics such as diabetes management, general wellness, suicide prevention, sexual health, domestic violence, food sovereignty, cultural practices and more! We post information about community events and current health updates such as COVID-19 on our Facebook and Instagram frequently as well.
Check out some of the flyers from our past events below!
